DO NOT BE A MONKEY
This is from a line of Nagoya-specific t-shirts along the same theme (Do not be a cat! Do not be a rabbit!) Some people say the ability to communicate is what distinguishes humans from other animals, but apparently it's our ability to choose t-shirts. ^-^

Because monkeys also wear T-shirts (and spectacles, apparently), but not the ones they choose. And if you can't even choose your T-shirt....well, what are you?!
(This sort of delightful un-logic reminds me of a question a kid put to me the other day:
"how can you drive if you don't know how to cook?"
Put THAT on a T-shirt, Japan!)
LIVE AS A HUMAN BEING (FOR CHRISTSSAKE)
(The all-caps imperative urgency of it!)
And now I must CHOOSE MY T-SHIRT. Today, I will not be a monkey.

It's true, that poor monkey CLEARLY did not choose that t-shirt! Or glasses! The monkey actually has a name, although I can't remember it right now...it appears on other shirts and is something like Willy Williamson. :)
I like "How can you drive if you don't know how to cook?" It feels like a Zen koan somehow...
